Careers Sound

Career advice assists the student to make wise academic choices along the way; choices that will empower the student to go on to further education or training with confidence and enthusiasm.

As students progress through the secondary education system it becomes increasingly important for them to have a goal that focuses their drive to learn and to achieve appropriate qualifications. Under the guidance of the Careers Counsellor, students are able to be involved in work placements to help their transition from school to the workforce (Gateway Programme).

STAR funding provides financial support for courses, visits and other experiences that do not operate within the regular curriculum. A high number of Gateway placements are available to students each year.
